The Senior Resident Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day technical operations at, REDtone’s customer site. Ensuring optimal performance of ICT systems, infrastructure, and services. This role requires hands-on expertise and leadership in troubleshooting, system administration, and proactive maintenance.
Duties and responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical support for servers, storage, network, and security systems.
- Lead incident resolution, root cause analysis, and preventive maintenance.
- Manage data center operations, including cabling, UPS, and environmental controls.
- Ensure compliance with backup, disaster recovery, and security standards.
- Support project implementation and technical consultancy tasks.
- Maintain accurate documentation and asset registers.
- Mentor junior engineers and ensure knowledge transfer.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Diploma or degree in IT, Networking, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in ICT infrastructure support.
Skills and Experience
- Strong knowledge of virtualization, storage, and network technologies.
- Experience with monitoring tools, backup systems, and security protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Knowledge of local and wide area networks.
- Understanding of network hardware like routers, switches, and firewalls will be an additional advantage
